The Alliance For Appalachia
The Alliance For Appalachia is a collaboration of thirteen organizations in Central Appalachia working to bring an end to the devastating coal mining technique known as mountaintop removal. The Alliance For Appalachia also seeks to promote a just and sustainable economy and a clean, renewable energy future in the region.
The Appalachian Community Fund (ACF) is a publicly supported, non-profit grantmaking organization that provides resources and support to grassroots organizations working to overcome the underlying causes of poverty and injustice in Central Appalachia (East Tennessee, Eastern Kentucky, Southwest Virginia and West Virginia). We pool resources from a range of sources including individuals, businesses, and foundations to support community-led efforts and movement for social change, to support the training and leadership development necessary to strengthen the work in our region, and to cultivate the conditions for lasting, long-term change to be possible…Read More

Christians For the Mountains is an initiative to summons faithful Christians to act responsibly to God’s creation. Our focus is local and regional, the Southern Appalachian Mountains region. Our first objective is the end of mountaintop removal extraction.
The Clearfork Community Institute is located in Eagan, TN, and has had a large impact on this conference and pro-actively supporting the land and people of Eagan for many years.
The mission of Coal River Mountain Watch is to stop the destruction of our communities and environment by mountaintop removal mining, to improve the quality of life in our area and to help rebuild sustainable communities.

Lexington Environmental Action Project
Through education, outreach, and direct action, LEAP strives to effect positive change for Kentucky’s environment and communities. LEAP is currently working with the Mountain Justice Summer campaign to end mountain top removal mining, and fighting to ensure that Lexington’s electric provider, Kentucky Utilities, stop burning coal obtained through this destructive mining process
Mountain Justice is a call to action and a request from the people of the Appalachian mountains for help in saving our mountains, streams–and forests from greedy coal companies.
Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition
The Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, formed in 1987, is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to organize and maintain a diverse grassroots organization dedicated to the improvement and preservation of the environment through education, grassroots organizing and coalition building, leadership development and media outreach. Our work encompasses much of West Virginia.
Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards
is an organization of concerned community members and their allies who are working to stop the destruction of our communities by surface coal mining, to improve the quality of life in our area, and to help rebuild sustainable communities.
United Mountain Defense is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Tennessee’s watersheds, air,
mountains, and people.
